What it is

A dental implant is today’s gold standard for replacing a missing tooth. It is a small, biocompatible titanium post that acts as an artificial root, anchoring a natural-looking crown, bridge or denture so you can smile, speak and eat with complete confidence again.

What dental implants are & their benefits

Unlike a bridge, an implant stands on its own without relying on the neighbouring teeth, so your healthy teeth stay untouched. The titanium post fuses with your jawbone over time, giving a stable, long-term foundation that helps preserve bone and keeps your face looking natural. The result feels and functions remarkably like a real tooth.

The step-by-step procedure

Treatment begins with a full assessment and digital imaging to check the bone and plan the ideal position. The implant is then placed under local anaesthetic in a gentle, precise procedure. Over the following weeks it integrates with the bone, and once healed we attach a custom-made crown matched to the shade and shape of your own teeth. Every stage is explained clearly, and we take extra care with anxious patients.

Lifespan, care & GESY

With good daily hygiene and regular check-ups, dental implants can last for decades — caring for them is simply caring for the rest of your teeth. As a registered GESY (ΓΕΣΥ) provider, our Nicosia clinic can advise you on what is covered and guide you through your options, so you always know exactly where you stand before any treatment begins.

Step by step

  1. Assessment & imaging

A full examination and X-rays show how much bone you have and where the implant should sit.

  2. Treatment plan

We explain the options, the timeline and the full cost before anything starts — no surprises later.

  3. Implant placement

Under local anaesthetic the titanium post is placed in the jaw. Most patients describe it as easier than an extraction.

  4. Healing

Over the next weeks the implant fuses with the bone, and we check that it is healing well.

  5. The final crown

A crown matched to the shape and shade of your own teeth is fitted on the implant.

Materials & equipment we use

Medical-grade titanium implant

Biocompatible titanium is the material used in implants worldwide because the bone grows onto it.

Ceramic crown

The visible part is made of ceramic, shaped and coloured to look like your natural teeth.

Digital X-rays & panoramic (OPG)

Low-radiation imaging taken in our own clinic to plan the exact position.

What our patients say

“I recently visited DentLux Clinic, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The clinic itself is modern, clean, and inviting, which immediately put me at ease. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, making sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. The dentist took the time to explain every procedure in detail, which I really appreciated. It’s clear they prioritize patient care and comfort. The treatment itself was seamless, and I left feeling well taken care of. Another highlight was the advanced technology they use—it made the process faster and more efficient than I expected. If you’re looking for a dental clinic that combines expertise, professionalism, and a warm atmosphere, I highly recommend DentLux Clinic!”

Questions everyone asks

Does getting an implant hurt?+

The area is numbed with local anaesthetic, so you feel pressure but not pain. Afterwards most people need only ordinary painkillers for a day or two.

Am I too old for an implant?+

Age on its own is not a reason not to have one. What matters is your general health and the bone in the area — we check both at the assessment.

How long does the whole treatment take?+

Usually 3 to 6 months from placement to the final crown, mostly waiting for the bone to heal. You only come in for a few short visits.

Implant or bridge — which is better?+

An implant stands on its own and leaves the neighbouring teeth untouched; a bridge needs them filed down. We go through both honestly at your assessment.
